What is the Free Image Resizer?
The PrivatePhotoSuite Image Resizer lets you resize photos to any dimension, in pixels or by percentage, entirely in your browser. It supports batch resizing of up to 20 images at once, with social media presets for Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube thumbnails, and more. Aspect ratio locking ensures your images won't be distorted. The output format selector lets you choose JPG, PNG, WebP, or keep the original format.
Why resize images without uploading?
When you upload photos to resize them on a third-party server, those images travel across the internet and are temporarily stored on hardware you don't control. With PrivatePhotoSuite, all resizing happens in your browser using the Canvas API. Your files are loaded into memory, resized, and downloaded β entirely on your device. No upload, no server, no risk.
How to resize images β step by step
- Drag your photos into the upload zone, or click to select from your device.
- Choose a social media preset, or enter custom dimensions in Pixels or Percentage mode.
- Toggle the aspect ratio lock to prevent distortion.
- Select your output format (JPG, PNG, WebP, or original).
- Click "Resize & Download All" to download all resized files.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I resize multiple photos at once?
Yes. You can batch resize up to 20 images at once. All files are resized to the same target dimensions and downloaded individually.
Will resizing reduce quality?
Downscaling typically looks excellent. Upscaling beyond the original size will reduce quality β but this is a limitation of all resizing tools, not specific to PrivatePhotoSuite.
What is the maximum file size?
Each file can be up to 50MB. The tool handles large photos well because processing happens on your device.
Does the aspect ratio lock work for all presets?
Social media presets set specific width and height values for each platform. For custom resizing in Pixels mode, the aspect ratio lock keeps your original proportions.
What output formats are supported?
JPG, PNG, WebP, or Original (same format as the input file).
